Kate Casanova is a visual artist who lives and works in
Minneapolis, MN. She was born in the "Icebox of the Nation," International Falls, and grew up
with sled dogs but soon traded her rural existence for an education in art. She is a graduate of the Perpich Center for Arts Education and the Minneapolis
College of Art and Design. She has studied in New York at the Parsons New School of Design / New York
Studio residency.
Her work is inspired by social materials, those that are readily found in
everyday life. These manufactured materials blend with natural forms to create otherly worlds,
thought objects and new meaning.
